Job summary

Strive Pharmacy is hiring an overnight Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician in Gilbert, AZ. This full-time, on-site role involves preparing and compounding custom non-sterile medications, hazardous and non-hazardous, while upholding SOPs and quality control standards.

You will calibrate equipment, manage inventory, and support the pharmacy team to ensure accurate, timely prescriptions and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Active PTCB/NHA certification is required.
• Active State Board of Pharmacy Technician License is required.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Absolute willingness to wear PPE for all compounding.

Responsibilities

• Accurately compound non-sterile medications (liquids, creams, capsules) according to prescriptions.
• Calibrate and document use of precision equipment with calibration records.
• Execute strict quality control and obtain pharmacist verification.
• Monitor inventory and rotate chemicals to maintain potency and freshness.
• Maintain a cleanroom workspace and participate in audits for regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with laboratory and pharmacy teams to meet daily schedules.

Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Location: Gilbert, Arizona
Schedule: 3rd shift; Monday through Thursday; 7:30 PM - 6:00 AM
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour plus $2.00 per hour shift differential

Position Overview: Ready to step into a pivotal role as an overnight Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician, where your skills bring life-changing medications to individuals who depend on them? In this role at Strive Pharmacy, you'll be at the core of preparing and compounding custom prescriptions, both hazardous and non-hazardous. You will uphold the highest standards of quality control and maintain strict compliance with our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities:

• Medication Compounding: Accurately compound and mix custom non-sterile medications (including liquids, topical creams, capsules, and more) according to formulas and prescriptions.
• Equipment & Calibration: Calibrate, maintain, and document the use of precision equipment, scales, and meters to ensure exact measurements.
• Quality Assurance: Execute strict quality control protocols and present finished compounds to the pharmacist for final verification and approval.
• Inventory Management: Monitor, manage, and rotate the chemical and raw material inventory to ensure potency, freshness, and optimal stock levels.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain a pristine, organized, and safe cleanroom workspace. Actively participate in internal and external audits/inspections to ensure total regulatory compliance.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the laboratory and pharmacy team to meet daily compounding schedules and troubleshoot workflow challenges.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Licensure/Certification: Active Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB/NHA) certification AND a valid, active State Board of Pharmacy Technician License (Technician Trainee licenses cannot be accepted).
• Background: Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
• Safety Compliance: Absolute willingness to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for hazardous and non-hazardous compounding.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: 1+ years of dedicated non-sterile compounding experience in a pharmacy setting is highly preferred.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong familiarity with USP (Non-Sterile Compounding), USP (Hazardous Drug Handling), and FDA 503A/cGMP guidelines.
• Lab Flexibility: Comfortable and capable of working interchangeably in both hazardous and non-hazardous compounding environments.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Physical Tasks: Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the shift. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, or manipulate precision laboratory equipment and ingredients.
• Lifting: Must be able to occasionally lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds (e.g., chemical barrels, bulk inventory).
• Setting: Remotely climate-controlled indoor laboratory environment. Involves working closely with a collaborative team in a fast-paced setting.
