Job summary

ReNue Rx is a patient-centric compounding pharmacy partner that supports in-clinic pharmacies and telepharmacy locations. The Compounding Pharmacy Technician assists licensed pharmacists in preparing medications, ensuring safety and accuracy in all compounding procedures.

We seek a motivated professional with at least 1 year of compounding experience, Texas CPhT certification, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required.
  • 1 year of sterile or non-sterile compounding lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nonsterile compounding and maintain master formulas per SOPs and USP guidelines.
  • Record procedures, lot numbers, expirations, and ensure accuracy of calculations.
  • Coordinate with pharmacy team to prepare compounds and conduct quality checks.
  • Maintain and clean equipment and workspaces used in compounding.
  • Monitor inventory and reorder supplies as needed.
  • Follow company policies and participate in training opportunities.

Job Overview:

The Compounding Pharmacy Technician will assist the pharmacist with providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to our patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of ReNue Rx, the state's professional standards, and other regulatory entities. The Compounding Technician works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist compounding medication. A compounding Technician is experienced in all aspects of medication compounding and plays a significant role in the coordination of patient services.

Compounding Pharmacy Technician Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates ability to perform nonsterile compounding. USP 800 experience preferred
  • Follow all SOPs, USP and all other safety and company policies, double check calculations, record compounding procedures, lot and expiry of ingredients.
  • Coordinate with other pharmacy team members to compound preparations and execute quality assurance procedures, following standard operating procedures
  • Ensure all compounds are prepared in accordance to the master formulas and in accordance with USP 795.
  • Responsible for inspection, maintenance, and cleaning of all laboratory equipment, instruments, utensils, and work surfaces necessary/required for the preparations
  • Monitor and record inventory of chemicals, materials, consumables, and other required items.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions
  • Update job knowledge by participating in training opportunities
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Demonstrates proficiency with following direction
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt with change of workflow
  • Properly use, calibrate and maintains equipment needed in making of compounds
  • Sampling batches for quality testing. Executes required in-process product quality checks and documents accurately
  • Perform miscellaneous inventory of consumables to ensure proper stock
  • Operate and clean compounding equipment and compounding areas
  • Maintain cleaning standards in the compounding areas
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Ensure all calculations on compounding log sheets are accurate and correct
  • Tracking, ordering, and receiving orders of supplies
  • Cleaning of all work areas, including work surfaces, equipment, floors, walls etc,
Compounding Pharmacy Technician Requirements and Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience as a certified Pharmacy Technician Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current Texas Pharmacy Technician Certificate - CPhT
  • 1 year of sterile compounding lab or non-sterile compounding lab experience a plus
  • Experience with Compounding Software, Compound Assist, is a plus
  • Experience with compounding creams, capsules, and troches a plus
  • Ability to cope with varied levels of workload and multiple tasks
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written
  • Willingness to be a team player and promote a positive team environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible and proactive to meet varied patient and company needs
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal and people skills
  • Able to read, write, and speak English properly, other languages a plus
  • Ability to perform simple pharmaceutical calculations for individualized prescriptions.
  • Must be able to meet physical demands which may include light lifting.
