Job summary

Certainty Home Loans LLC is seeking a dedicated Underwriter to assess residential loan files, ensure accuracy, and comply with investor guidelines. This role focuses on Non-QM and FHA/VA underwriting with authority on loan exceptions and declines.

Qualifications

• Non-QM underwriting experience with 5+ years in mortgage underwriting.
• 5+ years FHA/VA, Conventional, and USD/RD underwriting experience.
• Experience with underwriting to multiple lender guidelines.
• Knowledge of Non-QM requirements including full doc, DSCR and alt loan docs.
• Critically examine credit, income and asset documents and review title and appraisals.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite residential loans to company and investor standards.
• Examine loan documents for accuracy and completeness with loan staff.
• Work with senior underwriters on loan exceptions and declines.
• Respond to audits from individuals and investors.
• Handle all levels of underwriting authority and exceptions.

We are currently seeking a hard-working, dedicated Non-QM Underwriter to join our innovative and passionate team.

Responsibilities

• As an Underwriter you will be responsible for but not limited to the underwriting of residential loans ensuring compliance with appropriate company and investor standards
• A Mortgage Underwriter will be responsible for examining loan documentations for accuracy and completeness while working with loan originator or production staff to secure all required documents
• Mortgage Underwriters may be involved in one or several types of mortgage lending (conventional, government-backed, etc.)
• You may be required to work with more senior mortgage underwriters on loan exceptions having the authority to withdraw and decline loans
• You may also be required to respond directly to individual and investor audits
• Includes all levels of underwriting authority and exception levels

Qualifications

• Non-QM Underwriting experience 5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience
• 5+ years of FHA/VA, Conventional, and USD/RD underwriting experience
• Experience with underwriting to multiple lender guidelines and requirements
• Knowledge of Non-QM Underwriting requirements. Including but not limited to full doc, DSCR, Bank statement loans, and other Alternative Loan Doc products
• Critically examine credit, income and asset documents and review title policy and appraisals
