Job summary

Union Home Mortgage Corp. is seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to assess loan applications based on credit, employment, income, assets, appraisal reports, and investor guidelines.

You will make sound risk decisions that support quality standards and applicant success. In this role you will maintain 24–48 hour turn times, clear UTC conditions, stay current with investor and guideline changes, and ensure accuracy across loan types, rates, and documentation, while upholding UHM's

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an underwriter in mortgage.
• Experience with Non QM loans.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Proficient in credit risk analysis and decision making.
• Strong writing and interpersonal communication.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with Encompass LOS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 24-48 hour turn times.
• Clear UTC conditions within 24 hours.
• Stay updated on investors, agency, and UHM guideline changes.
• Ensure accuracy of criteria for loan types, products, rates, documentation, and data.
• Maintain quality control ratings within company standards.
• Listen in on departmental huddles.
• Additional responsibilities as required.
