Job summary

ION Solar is seeking licensed electricians to join our residential solar installation teams. The role involves assembling solar arrays, sealing roof penetrations, and wiring systems for solar projects across outdoor sites.

You will ascend to heights on rooftops, ensure safety, and work with a crew to meet project timelines. Ideal candidates have a formal electrical apprenticeship and a valid license; unlicensed applicants may enrol in a trade apprenticeship.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Solar or relevant experience is preferred.
  • Licensed - Completion of a formal apprenticeship and proof of valid electrician's license required
  • Unlicensed - Must be enrolled in a trade apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Complete projects within established policies and procedures.
  • Complete projects within time frames and budgets.
  • Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safety.
  • Assemble the solar array racking, seal roof penetrations, and install related equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues.
  • Communicate with customers in a professional and respectful manner, answering questions and concerns.
  • Document proper paperwork for each job completed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

We have a great work environment that fosters individual growth and allows our team to enjoy helping people go green.Licensed Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems for various projects in the solar installation process.Duties/Responsibilities:Complete projects within established policies and proceduresComplete projects within time frames and budgetsMaintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safetyAssemble the solar array racking, properly seal all roof penetrations, and install all relative equipmentMSP Rebuilds & UpgradesResponsible for the groundwork of a solar installation which includes the connection to the MSPDiagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issuesCommunicate with customers in a professional, and respectful manner, answering all questions and complaints to the best of your abilityDocument proper paperwork for each job completedPerforms other related duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Ability to read blueprintsExtensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiringAbility to use hand tools and power toolsProficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipmentExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsEducation and Experience:A high school diploma or equivalent is requiredSolar or relevant experience is preferredLicensed - Completion of a formal apprenticeship and proof of valid electrician's license requiredUnlicensed - Must be enrolled in a trade apprenticeshipDriving Requirements:Must be at least 21 years oldMust have a clean driving record as determined by a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checkPhysical Requirements:Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.Must be able to work at great heights.Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.Work Environment:PV installation is done outdoors.
