Qualifications

Following an evidence-based bio-psycho-social approach to pain management, our team of medical doctors, psychologists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, dietitians, community health workers and massage therapists work together within a revolutionary transdisciplinary model to care for the whole person. We are looking for a compassionate Internist, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician, Addiction Physician or Palliative Care Physician with an interest in pain management and a bio-psycho-social approach, to join our rapidly growing practice in Victorville, CA. This position would be perfect for a physician who wishes to practice in a multi-disciplinary and holistic model of care. The schedule will be clinic-based.

The Physician will join a group of dedicated physicians, be responsible for the medical management of patients and for referrals to the transdisciplinary care model (UTC) which includes Mental Health, Physical Reconditioning and Complementary and Alternative Medicine therapies. Care will be provided to patients by the physician in collaboration with this team.

A key stop along the famous Route 66, Victorville's high desert, is the ideal place to live, work and play any time of year. At 2,875 feet above sea level, Victorville's dry, high desert climate welcomes a taste of all seasons, from cool springs and falls, hot, sunny summers and winters that sometimes bring light snow.

Job Duties:

  • Excellent medical skills and knowledge of medical pain management. No procedural skills required.
  • Provides relief from acute or chronic pain with medications, or referral to interventional techniques.
  • Explains our transdisciplinary biopsychosocial model of pain management to patients
  • Partners with behavioral health and physical reconditioning providers as needed to meet patient needs
  • Supervises up to four nurse practitioners and physician assistants to ensure those providers are accomplishing assigned job responsibilities and appropriately identifying candidates for interventional procedures.
  • Cares for a medically complex and emotionally challenging patient population that requires empathy and the ability to de-escalate.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Upholds the company’s mission, vision and values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, consistent with the above responsibilities.
  • Willing to practice at other Savas locations if and as requested.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine
  • Graduate of an accredited Internal Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Addiction Medicine or Palliative Care fellowship program
  • Must possess valid board certification as a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Must possess a valid medical license in California.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment (30+ patients per day)
