Job summary

DeWitt Public Schools is seeking a lunch and recess supervisor to provide assistance and supervision to students during the lunch and recess program. This role reports to the Building Principal and ensures a positive, safe environment during lunch and recess periods.

The ideal candidate will hold a High School diploma or GED and preferably have knowledge or experience with upper elementary students. This is a 3.0 hour/day, non-exempt position under the DESPA Union Contract.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Supervise students during lunch and recess to ensure safety.
• Direct movements to ensure smooth transitions between lunch and recess.
• Experience with upper elementary students is preferred.

• The employee supervises students during lunch and recess and is directly responsible for their safety and well-being
• Assures the cafeteria is clean by removing trash, wiping tables and cleaning spills as needed
• Directs movement of students within the cafeteria/playground boundaries to assure smooth transition of students from lunch to recess time
• Assists students as needed
• Prefer knowledge or experience with upper elementary students

Compensation

Per DESPA Union Contract, Class III – 08 position

3.0 hour/day position; schedule as determined by Building Principal
