M&M Recycling, Inc. in Georgia is seeking a hands-on Non-Ferrous Operations Manager to lead our multi-location non-ferrous operations, with the flagship site in Locust Grove.

You should know scrap metal, run a profitable yard, and enjoy developing people alongside the team. Reporting to the COO, you’ll oversee yard managers and ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations from purchasing through shipping.

Competenze

• 5+ years of operations management in scrap metal or similar.
• 2+ years overseeing multiple locations with on-site managers.
• Strong knowledge of non-ferrous metals, grading, and processing.
• Track record of inventory accuracy and performance improvement.

Help Lead the Next Chapter of M&M Recycling!

M&M Recycling is a growing, family-owned metal recycling company with nearly 40 years in the industry. We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Non-Ferrous Operations Manager to lead and strengthen our non-ferrous operations across multiple Georgia locations, with the main location in Locust Grove, Ga.

This isn't a desk job. We're looking for someone who knows scrap metal, understands how to run a profitable yard, enjoys developing people, and isn't afraid to jump in alongside the team.

Reporting directly to our COO, you'll oversee yard managers and supervisors while ensuring our non-ferrous operations run safely, efficiently, and profitably--from purchasing and processing through inventory management and shipping.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Operations & Material Flow

• Oversee daily non-ferrous purchasing, grading, processing, and shipping across multiple yards.
• Coordinate with Trading and Transportation to manage material flow, inter-yard transfers, and outbound shipments.
• Ensure material is processed to specification, accurately graded, and ready to ship on schedule.
• Identify bottlenecks, improve productivity, and protect profitability.

Inventory & Accountability

• Maintain accurate inventory by grade and location, including twice-weekly reconciliations.
• Monitor purchasing volumes, processing output, inventory variances, and material movement.
• Provide reliable inventory reporting to support trading and sales decisions.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, coach, and hold yard managers and supervisors accountable for performance.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, employee evaluations, and performance improvement.
• Develop consistent training programs for material identification, grading, processing, equipment operation, and customer service.
• Build a culture of teamwork, ownership, safety, and continuous improvement.

Safety, Compliance & Yard Standards

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, stormwater, scrap purchasing, and other applicable regulations.
• Oversee equipment inspections, preventive maintenance coordination, safety meetings, and recordkeeping.
• Maintain clean, organized, secure, and efficient yards and warehouses.
• Establish consistent customer service standards, including accurate grading, fair pricing, and efficient scale operations.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of operations management experience in scrap metal recycling or a comparable material-handling industry.
• 2+ years managing multiple locations with direct oversight of on-site managers.
• Strong working knowledge of non-ferrous metals, material identification, grading, and processing, including baling, wire chopping, shearing, and separation.
• Proven experience managing inventory accuracy, reconciliation, and operational performance.
• Knowledge of applicable safety, environmental, and scrap recycling regulations.
• Experience training employees, developing supervisors, and managing performance.
• Comfortable using inventory management, equipment inspection, and safety reporting systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel between Georgia locations regularly and work outdoors alongside yard crews and heavy equipment.
