Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking a Laborer in the Scrapyard/Metal Recycling environment in California. The role involves unloading, sorting, and packing materials, disassembling small equipment, and assisting with machinery repair. You will haul and organize items, maintain cleanliness, and comply with safety rules.

Preferred is a high school diploma or GED. Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus. The position requires passing a medical exam and background check, with daily attendance and reliability

Qualifications

• Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and understand directions.
• Basic math is needed for measurements and quantities.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, foreign education acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Unload pallets, boxes, and bundles from vehicles.
• Handle materials through sorting, lifting, pulling, and carrying.
• Unpack boxes using box cutters and separate plastics, zip ties, and blister packs.
• Disassemble small equipment and remove bolts, wiring, and parts.
• Operate yard equipment and direct traffic of yard vehicles.
• Perform light maintenance and assist machinery repair with team.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe; dispose of waste properly.
• Maintain daily hygiene and housekeeping in the workplace.
