Job summary

Williams International is seeking a Non-Destructive Testing Technician on the 2nd shift to conduct penetrant and/or ultrasonic inspections and participate in related testing activities. The role ensures parts are manufactured per standards and specifications, with accurate documentation and adherence to safety policies.

The technician will perform various NDT methods as required, maintain part traceability, and support continuous flow in the cell while meeting blueprint tolerances and quality

Qualifications

  • High School or GED and five years' experience in two of the five NDI methods, with at least four years' experience as a Level 2.
  • Effective interaction with team members, customers and all levels of management; reads, understands and correctly interprets basic blueprint drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, radiographic or eddy current inspection when necessary.
  • Manufacture and/or tests parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate and reliable documentation.
  • Perform inspection and/or testing to ensure parts are machined per blueprints and tolerances; visually inspect for burrs or damage.
  • Remove burrs and sharp edges to meet engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications; ensure records are accurate.
  • Communicate shift changes to ensure team receives accurate information and documentation.
  • Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment.
  • Keep the cellular manufacturing area clean and organized per standards.
  • Ensure continuous flow of materials and parts through the cell.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and regulations.

The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for an Non-Destructive Testing Technician to join our team. The Technician will have responsibility for conducting penetrant and/or ultrasonic inspection. He/she will participate in inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure that parts are manufactured in accordance with manufacturing standards and specifications. All Non-Destructive Testing Technicians are also responsible to ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts through the assigned Cell.

The Non-Destructive Testing Technician will also:

  • Conduct penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, radiographic or eddy current inspection when necessary.
  • Manufacture and/or tests parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate and reliable documentation.
  • Perform inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications. Visually inspects parts to ensure they are free of burrs or damaged surfaces.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks and other irregularities from machined parts to ensure they are in accordance with engineering blueprints, and tolerance requirements.
  • Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensures that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained.
  • Communicate change of shift requirements to ensure team members receive accurate and reliable information and documentation.
  • Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment operated.
  • Clean, organize and maintain cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards.
  • Ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts through the Cell.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications

High School or GED and five years' experience in two out of five of the NDI methods with at least four years' experience as a Level 2 in penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, radiographic or eddy current. Effective interaction with team members, customers and all levels of management. Reads, understands and correctly interprets basic blueprint drawings.

  • Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
    (Note – must use a lift assist or assistance from other individual(s) when lifting in excess of 50 lbs.)
  • Must be capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 lbs.
  • Must have grip strength of at least 50 lbs.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
