Job Description:

Responsible for supporting and maintaining the coordination of daily operations of the assigned area. Interfaces with medical management regularly to work on more complex UR cases for the outpatient UR function. 60% Maintains the outpatient authorization process, including ensuring benefit coverage, reviewing and determining eligibility, reviewing established utilization review criteria, and interpreting rules and regulations. Completes authorization following established policies and procedures. 20% Reviews interdepartmental requests and medical information to complete the utilization process. 15% Documents processes and decisions in the appropriate system accurately and in a timely manner. 5% Establishes and maintains effective business relationships with primary care physician offices and other health service providers.

Education :

• Required Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN)
• Required Licensure: Active, unrestricted LPN/LVN license from the United States and in the state of hire, or an active compact multistate unrestricted LPN license as defined by the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
• Required Work Experience: 3 years in managed care within healthcare
