Job summary

KETCH is hiring a Non-CNA Direct Support Professional in Wichita, KS. This full-time role offers evening, weekend and daytime shifts with overtime if available; you will support adults with developmental disabilities in group home settings, providing assistance, transportation, personal care and training.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license and reliable transportation, good communication, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation to and from work.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs or ¼ of body weight, whichever is less.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide supports, teaching, transportation and personal care to adults with developmental disabilities.
• Assist with training, mentoring and coaching within group home settings.
• Support community outings, shopping and daily activities.
• Maintain safety and quality of care for participants.

Requirements for a DSP

• High school diploma or accredited GED
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, proof of insurance, and dependable transportation to and from work
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs or ¼ of your total body weight, whichever is less
• Work experience or knowledge regarding the needs of individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is beneficial, but not required
• CNA, CMA, HHA, Caregiver or Direct Support experience is beneficial, but not required
• Able to attend a two week, weekday, day time orientation
