Job summary

KETCH Kansas Elks Training Center for the Handicapped in Kansas is seeking a Non-CNA Direct Support Professional to help adults with developmental disabilities in our group home settings. The role involves supports, teaching, transportation, caregiving, personal care, and daily living activities.

This full-time position offers evening, weekend, and daytime shifts, a strong training program, and growth opportunities. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or accredited GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record and reliable transportation.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs or ¼ of body weight, whichever is less.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide supports in group home settings, including teaching, transporting, caregiving, personal care, and hygiene assistance.
• Train, mentor, coach, and educate participants to promote independence.
• Assist with community outings and shopping to support daily living.
• Participate in a two-week weekday daytime orientation.

Requirements for a Non-CNA DSP:

• High school diploma or accredited GED
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, proof of insurance, and dependable transportation to and from work
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs or ¼ of your total body weight, whichever is less
• Work experience or knowledge regarding the needs of individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is beneficial, but not required
• CNA, CMA, HHA, Caregiver or Direct Support experience is beneficial, but not required
• Able to attend a two week, weekday, day time orientation
