Job summary

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Kansas seeks a Surgical Technologist to join a surgical team. You will maintain aseptic technique, assist in assembly, setup, and breakdown of the sterile field, and provide instruments and supplies to the team.

Requirements include Associate degree preferred, or graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program, BLS, and 1+ year OR experience; must be proficient in English and knowledgeable in sterile technique, disinfection, and safety standards.

Provides and maintains a safe physical environment. Adheres to standards and protocols when working in the operating room and sterile processing. Displays working knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and supplies. Follows department and hospital policies and regulatory standards. Maintains aseptic technique at all times. Carries out responsibilities in an appropriate manner. Works collaboratively as a member of the surgical team. Manages workload efficiently. Uses equipment proficiently and safely. Assists in the assembly, set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of the sterile field. Supports the surgical team by providing necessary instruments and supplies. Participates in the care of the surgical patient. Other duties as assigned.
