Job summary

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing teams in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a acute care setting. You will assist with daily activities, monitor patients, and communicate effectively with patients and families under RN supervision.

Requirements include High School Grad and CPR/BLS certification; 1+ year preferred in bedside care; the role is on-site in Orlando, Florida, with full-time night/day shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv (Required).
• 1+ applicable PCT experience (Preferred).
• Previous bedside patient care in acute care or related roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.

• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.

• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.

Education

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required] OR
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Required] OR
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required]
