Job summary

A leading healthcare organization in Ohio is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to provide patient care under the supervision of an ophthalmologist. Responsibilities include performing clinical duties, preparing patients for examinations, and maintaining exam rooms. Qualifications

Ophthalmic Assistants provide vision care under the supervision of a licensed ophthalmologist and assist with taking patient histories, performing diagnostic tests and procedures, patient scheduling, and exam room preparation.

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,500

A caregiver in this position works 7:00am to 5:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Perform clinical and technical ophthalmic duties and basic patient care as directed by a physician or supervisor.
  • Receive and prepare patients for examination and treatment under the direction of a supervisor or physician.
  • Perform routine screening tests and document patient information in the patient medical record.
  • Stock and maintain exam rooms with equipment and supplies.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of experience providing direct patient care under the supervision of an Ophthalmologist
Physical Requirements
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and PC.
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
  • May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
  • Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.
Personal Protective Equipment
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $16.47
Maximum hourly: $23.61
