Job summary

A leading healthcare organization in Ohio is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to provide patient care under the supervision of an ophthalmologist. Ophthalmic Assistants provide vision care under the supervision of a licensed ophthalmologist and assist with taking patient histories, performing diagnostic tests and procedures, patient scheduling, and exam room preparation.

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,500

A caregiver in this position works 7:00am to 5:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Perform clinical and technical ophthalmic duties and basic patient care as directed by a physician or supervisor.
• Receive and prepare patients for examination and treatment under the direction of a supervisor or physician.
• Perform routine screening tests and document patient information in the patient medical record.
• Stock and maintain exam rooms with equipment and supplies.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of experience providing direct patient care under the supervision of an Ophthalmologist

Physical Requirements

• Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and PC.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
• May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
• Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $16.47
Maximum hourly: $23.61
