Cleveland Clinic's Twinsburg Family Health Center is hiring a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant to support ophthalmology services in a busy clinic. You will assist the ophthalmologist, perform clinical tasks, and help maintain a welcoming, efficient patient flow.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma, recent ophthalmic program graduate, COA certification, and at least one year of direct patient care experience. The schedule is 8:00am–5:00pm, with days shift at Twinsburg location.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Successful completion of COA written exam required.
  • Recent graduate of Ophthalmic Technology Program preferred.
  • One year of direct patient care under ophthalmologist supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and prepare patients for examination or treatment.
  • Perform routine screening tests.
  • Document patient information in the patient medical record.
  • Perform stocking, maintenance and related duties including maintaining exam rooms, equipment and supplies.

As a Certified OphthalmicAssistant, you will support the Ophthalmologist by performing various clinical and administrative tasks throughout the department. You willassistwith direct patient care as directed, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and at ease throughout their appointment and exam. A caregiver in this position works8:00am to 5:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Receive andpreparepatientsfor examination or treatment.

  • Perform routine screening tests.

  • Perform stocking,maintenanceand other related duties as assigned, includingmaintainingexam rooms,equipmentand supplies.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Successful completion of the Certified Ophthalmic Assistant written exam

  • Recent graduate of an Ophthalmic Technology Program

  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO).

  • One year of experience providing direct care under the supervision of anOphthalmologist

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and PC.
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
  • May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
  • Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
