Job summary

Cleveland Clinic's Independence Family Health Center offers primary care, express care and a wide array of specialty services. This role supports ophthalmology services within a patient-friendly, collaborative environment.

A caregiver in this position works 7:30am to 5:00pm, performs patient preparation, clerical duties, and assists physicians in examinations and procedures, with opportunities to learn as ophthalmology care grows.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in an ophthalmic setting providing direct patient care OR additional formal Ophthalmology education/training.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Receive and prepare patients for examination or treatment under the direction of the supervisor or physician.
• Perform routine screening tests.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Document patient information in their medical record.

Physical Requirements:

• Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and PC.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
• May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
• Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $16.47

Maximum hourly: $23.61
