Job summary

RCESD in Pecos, TX is seeking an EMS Provider Candidate who will train as an EMT and then take on EMT duties while pursuing paramedic certification.

You will study EMS procedures through classroom and practical training and learn to respond and treat medical and trauma emergencies using specialized equipment.

The role includes training and administrative tasks, with goals to become certified by DSHS and to maintain professional conduct at all times.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • Must pass a written entrance exam, physical agility, background, interview, and drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Attend EMT training and complete it successfully.
  • Hold EMT responsibilities while pursuing paramedic certification.
  • Learn EMS procedures through classroom instruction and practical training.
  • Respond to medical and trauma emergencies.
  • Perform training, administrative and clerical duties, and station tasks.
  • Become certified by DSHS within established deadlines.
  • Maintain courteous, professional conduct with patients, coworkers, and the public.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $54,000.00 To $54,000.00 Annually

RoleandResponsibilities
  • EMS ProviderCandidate willberequiredtoattendandsuccessfullycompleteEMT training. Once EMT certification is obtained, you will have EMT responsibilities while obtaining your paramedic certification.
  • Throughclassroominstructionandpracticaltraining,recruitsstudyEMS procedures.
  • Learnhowtorespondandprovide carewithspecialized medical equipment.
  • Learnhowtorespondandtreatmedicalandtraumarelatedemergencies.
  • Dutieswillalsoincludetraining,administrativeandclericalfunctions,aswellasstationduties.
  • Withinestablisheddeadline,theEMS Provider Candidate willberequiredtobecomecertifiedbyDSHS.
  • Conduct yourself in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner at all times when dealing with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
  • Other duties as assigned.

TheEMS Provider Candidate maybecomeeligibleforappointmenttoaEMS Provideruponmeetingallofthe following:

  • FavorablerecommendationbytheEMS Training Captain.
  • Satisfactorycompletingtheapprovedtrainingprogram.
  • PossessionofavalidEmergencyMedicalTechniciancertificationbyDSHS.
  • Possession of a valid paramedic certification by DSHS (if applicable).
