Job summary

Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland seeks a Non-Certified Chaplain to deliver professional spiritual care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.

The role supports patients, families, and caregivers and works on an on-call, variable schedule. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree; preferred candidates have a Master’s in Theology or related studies and 2 units of clinical pastoral education, plus pastoral experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or related studies preferred, board-certifying recognition is a plus.
  • Coursework/Training: 2 Units clinical pastoral education completed or in progress.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional spiritual care ministry to patients, families, and caregivers in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
  • Address spiritual, religious, and emotional needs with dignity, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Collaborate with care teams to integrate spiritual care into overall patient care plans.

The Non-Certified Chaplain provides professional and competent spiritual care ministry, and is responsible for serving the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of care recipients and caregivers- in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry or relevant religious studies similarly accepted in chaplaincy board certifying organizations.
  • Coursework/Training: 2 Units clinical pastoral education units.
  • 1 year Pastoral experience.
