AdventHealth's Texas Health Huguley location in Burleson, TX is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist in delivering patient care under a licensed nurse, perform vital signs, and document care in the EMR. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and compassionate patient interaction in a busy hospital setting.

This position requires a High School Grad, BLS certification, and prefers CNA or PCT certification; EMT, CPCT/A, NCPT-C, or similar credentials are also valued.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]
• NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Preferred] OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Preferred] OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Preferred]
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT)[Preferred]

Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record
• Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy.
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.
• Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
