Job summary

Staffmark is hiring a Non CDL Yard Goat Driver in Ontario, CA. The role pays $24.00 per hour and involves moving trailers, safety checks, and coordination with dispatch and warehouse teams to ensure timely transport of goods.

You will operate yard equipment, hook/unhook trailers, and perform pre/post-trip inspections while adhering to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license required.
• DOT Medical Card required.
• FMCSA Clearinghouse registered and clear MVR.
• 1 year CDL experience (within past 3 years).
• No more than 3 moving violations/at-fault accidents (past 3 years).
• No DUI or serious violations (past 5 years).
• 1 year yard goat/yard hostling experience (past 3 years).

Responsibilities

• Operate a yard goat to move trailers throughout the yard and dock areas.
• Hook and unhook trailers safely and efficiently.
• Switch out empty trailers with loaded trailers to support warehouse and production operations.
• Park trailers at designated docks and yard locations.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Follow all safety procedures and yard traffic rules.
• Communicate with dispatchers and managers via radio/onboard computer.
• Complete approx. 40–50 trailer moves per shift.

• Follow all company safety procedures and yard traffic regulations
• Communicate with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and managers via radio and onboard computer systems
• Complete approximately 40-50 trailer moves per shift
• Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and safety
• Operate in various weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind

Driving Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license
• DOT Medical Card
• FMCSA Clearinghouse registered and clear MVR
• 1 year CDL experience (within the past 3 years)
• No more than 3 moving violations/at-fault accidents (within the past 3 years)
• No DUI, reckless driving, or serious violations (within the past 5 years)
• 1 year of yard goat/yard hostling experience w/in the past 3 years
