Schedule: Monday – Sunday | 8:30 AM Start | 2 days off during the week

Hostlers Duties

• Yard hostlers will drive and maneuver yard goat & trailers from dock to dock switching out trailers
• Ability to work in fast paced environment, moving approximately 80+ moves per shift, and be able to blindside back
• Safety is always the key, so driver must be safety minded

Driving Requirements

• Driver Qualifications:
• Minimum of 23+ years of age or older
• Valid license
• Must have 1 year or more Class C Yard Hostling within the past 36 months
• No more than 2 moving violations and/or 2 preventable accidents combined in the last 3 years.
• No DUI’s/DWI’s or Reckless Driving in the past 5 years

What You Will Do

As a Yard Goat Driver (Hostler Driver), you will safely operate a yard goat to move and position trailers throughout a busy distribution yard. Responsibilities include switching trailers at loading docks, transporting empty and loaded trailers to designated locations, and supporting efficient warehouse and shipping operations. You will perform frequent trailer moves, averaging 80+ trailer switches per shift, while maintaining strict adherence to safety procedures and yard traffic regulations.

You will conduct pre- and post-shift equipment inspections, report any mechanical or safety concerns, and ensure trailers are properly secured before movement. This role requires confidence in performing blindside backing maneuvers, operating in a fast-paced environment, and maintaining accurate trailer tracking throughout the yard.

Qualified candidates will have a valid driver’s license, at least 1 year of recent yard hostler experience, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. Success in this role depends on safe driving habits, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and the flexibility to support weekend operations during peak business periods.
