Job summary

Daniels Health in Hayward, CA is seeking a customer-focused driver to operate a 26‑foot box truck, collecting sharps and medical waste containers from healthcare locations and delivering a high level of customer service daily.

This full-time direct hire role offers consistent hours, overtime opportunities, and a $26 per hour base pay. Typical schedule is four 10‑hour shifts starting at 1am with one Saturday per month, in a safety‑conscious, well‑maintained fleet.

Qualifications

• Delivery experience in handling shipments or waste is advantageous
• Must be able to work full-time hours (~40 hours/week)
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• Passing the 7 Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• Flexible, customer-focused attitude
• Experience operating vehicles up to 26 ft box trucks safely
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
• Road check level 1–3 familiarity
• Proven longevity in past employment
• On-time delivery practices

Responsibilities

• Collect, deliver, and store medical waste containers at customer sites
• Provide professional, courteous service and build positive customer relationships
• Operate 26ft box trucks safely in all conditions
• Complete routes on time and communicate delays or issues as they arise
• Load and unload containers; organize your truck and day to meet your schedule
• Consistently lifting up to 50 lbs, with occasional lifting of 50-75 lbs
• Pushing and pulling 100-250 lbs, as applicable to the role
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues immediately
• Follow DOT regulations, log hours correctly, and support roadside inspections
• Work with dispatch and teammates to resolve route or customer problems
• Own up to mistakes, report incidents accurately, and follow through on fixes

What will your job involve?

• Willingness to work full time hours, approx. 40 hours a week
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• Passing our 7 Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• A flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
• Experience operating vehicles in a safe manner (as large as 26 ft box trucks)
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
• Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
• Proven longevity in past employment
• On time delivery practices
