Job summary

Daniels Health is seeking a driver to operate a 26-foot box truck in Gardena, CA, collecting sharps and medical waste containers from healthcare locations and delivering a high level of customer service daily.

The role offers autonomy, stable hours, some overtime, and a well-maintained fleet with PPE. Training ensures safe handling of medical waste and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Delivery experience in any industry with manual handling is a plus.
• Willingness to work full-time hours (~40 hours/week).
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations.
• Proof of DOT compliance or ability to log hours and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Safely collecting, delivering and storing medical waste containers at customer locations.
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships.
• Operating a 26 ft box truck safely and on schedule.
• Completing deliveries to schedule and communicating changes or challenges.
• Loading/unloading and organizing the truck per schedule.
• Managing a route per leadership direction and delivering timely service.
• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections.
• Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. with occasional 50–75 lbs.; pushing/pulling 100–250 lbs.

What will your job involve?

• Safely collecting, delivering and storing our medical waste containers at customer locations
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships
• Operating vehicles in a safe manner (as large as 26 ft box trucks)
• Completing deliveries to time schedule, and clearly communicating changes or challenges as they arise
• Loading and unloading | Prioritizing and organizing your truck per schedule and needs
• Managing a route per leaderships direction | delivering timely, efficient and effective service
• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections
• Heavy lifting
  • Consistently lifting up to 50lbs., with occasional lifting of 50-75lbs
  • Pushing or pulling 100-250lbs., as applicable to the role

What are we looking for?

• Delivery experience within any industry where you have dealt with manual handling (advantageous not mandatory)
• Willingness to work full time hours, approx. 40 hours a week
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• Passing our 7 Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• A flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
• Experience operating vehicles in a safe manner (as large as 26 ft box trucks)
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
• Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
• Proven longevity in past employment
