Job summary

Custom Forest Products, Inc. in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a dependable non-CDL Driver for up to 6 months to deliver pallets, lumber, and wood materials using box trucks and flatbeds.

You will ensure on-time deliveries with excellent customer service while adhering to safety standards. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, securing loads, pre-trip inspections, route planning, accurate logs, and assisting with yard duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience delivering pallets/wood materials preferred.
• Forklift and material handling knowledge or willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of local routes in South Carolina.
• Reliable and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles to deliver pallets and wood materials.

Job description

This is a temporary position for up to 6 months. As a team member at Custom Forest Products, you will be expected to live out our core values of Integrity, Dedication and Teamwork. We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused non-CDL Driver to transport pallets, lumber, and related wood materials to customers using a small flatbed truck, box truck, and other company vehicles. This role is critical to ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service and adhering to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

The key job duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Safely operate company vehicles (box trucks, small flatbeds, or similar non-CDL vehicles) to deliver pallets and wood materials to customer locations
• Load and unload pallets, lumber, and materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand as needed
• Secure loads properly to ensure safe transport and prevent damage
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues
• Plan delivery routes efficiently and meet scheduled delivery times
• Provide professional and courteous service to customers during deliveries
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, invoices, and required documentation
• Assist with general yard or warehouse duties when not on deliveries
• Follow all company policies, DOT guidelines applicable to non-CDL drivers, and workplace safety regulations

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license (no CDL required) with a clean driving record
• Previous delivery driving experience preferred (flatbed or box truck experience a plus)
• Ability to operate or willingness to learn forklift and material handling equipment
• Knowledge of proper load securement techniques preferredBasic understanding of local routes and navigation in the South Carolina region

Physical Requirements:

• Fast-paced manufacturing and distribution setting

NOTE: Custom Forest Products is a pallet production company whereby the production department is not climate controlled. It will require PPEs. The production area conditions are typical of any lumber mill production facility to include sawdust, machine noise, steam activated tools and heavy lifting.
