Southern Lumber & Millwork Corp. in Charleston, SC is seeking a full-time yard associate to pull, stage, and load building materials. This is a physical, outdoor role supporting our lumber yard and retail operations.

The position requires dependable, daily attendance, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and safe, efficient work in a fast-paced environment. Local candidates preferred with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Pulling orders and loading materials into vehicles or trucks.

• Working outdoors and in warehouses in all weather conditions.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Communicating clearly with teammates and customers to ensure accuracy.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday–Friday (no nights or weekends), day shift only

Business Hours: Monday-Thursday 7 am- 5 pm, Friday 7 am- 3 pm

About the Role

This position works directly with customers to pull, stage, and load building materials accurately and efficiently. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position supporting our yard and retail operations.

What you’ll be doing:

• Assisting customers by pulling orders and loading materials into vehicles and trucks
• Safely operating forklifts and handling materials in a busy yard environment
• Working on your feet approximately 90% of the day
• Consistently lifting, carrying, and moving materials 50+ lbs
• Working outdoors and in the warehouse in all weather conditions
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Communicating clearly with team members and customers to ensure accuracy

• Paid every Friday + overtime available weekly
• Final compensation will be based on experience and qualifications
