Job description

ASAP Freight is seeking a reliable and skilled local (Nephi to Logan based out of Salt Lake) Non-CDL Box Truck Driver to join our team. The driver will be responsible for transporting goods and materials in a timely and safe manner, ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service. This position requires operating a box truck (under 26,000 lbs GVWR) and does not require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, strong time management skills, and the ability to handle physical tasks such as loading and unloading cargo onto docks, private residences and inside of businesses while using a liftgate and pallet jack and or hand truck.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a non-CDL box truck (up to 26,000 lbs GVWR) to transport goods and materials to designated locations.

Follow dispatched delivery routes efficiently to meet deadlines and maintain schedules.

Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transit.

Inspect the vehicle before and after each trip, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the supervisor.

Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and other required documentation.

Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to ensure smooth operations.

Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.

Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or questions professionally.

Perform minor vehicle maintenance tasks as needed (e.g., checking tire pressure, fluid levels).

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no major violations in the past 3 years). MVR check will be done prior to hire.

At least 1-2 years of experience driving a box truck or similar vehicle (preferred).

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo.

Strong knowledge of local roads and ability to use GPS navigation systems effectively.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Must pass a criminal background check.

Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety standards is a plus.

Must have or be in good enough health to obtain a DOT medical card (paid for by ASAP)
