Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a collaborative Node.js Developer with Java/Angular experience to design and build modern front-end applications, microservices, and REST APIs in an Agile environment.

You will contribute to cloud integrations on AWS, collaborate across cross-functional teams, and help guide architectural improvements while ensuring reliability and quality with testing frameworks such as Cucumber and monitoring with Splunk.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing front-end applications, microservices, and REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain front-end applications, microservices, and REST APIs using Node.js.
• Contribute hands-on full-stack development across core engineering projects.
• Assist in cloud architecture transitions on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.).
• Collaborate with Database, CTO, and API integration teams.
• Ensure reliability and quality with testing (Cucumber) and monitoring (Splunk).
• Participate actively in Agile team workflows and clarify evolving requirements.

In this role, you will help design and build modern front-end applications, microservices, and REST APIs, while contributing to architectural improvements and cloud integrations in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain front-end applications, microservices, and REST APIs primarily using Node.js
• Contribute hands‑on full‑stack development expertise across core engineering projects
• Help analyze existing applications to support target‑state design and cloud architecture transitions on AWS
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including Database, CTO organizations, and API integration groups
• Ensure application reliability and quality using testing frameworks (Cucumber, API testing tools) and monitoring platforms (Splunk)
• Engage actively in Agile team workflows, tackling technical challenges and clarifying requirements as they evolve

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• 4+ years of hands‑on experience designing and developing front-end applications, microservices, and REST APIs
• Core proficiency in Node.js, complemented by practical experience in Java (for legacy DB2 connectivity) and Angular
• Solid foundational experience with AWS cloud services (such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Kinesis, Firehose, DynamoDB, EKS, and CloudWatch) and databases (DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, legacy DB2)
• Excellent communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail, with the ability to handle technical ambiguity and work effectively within a team
