Job summary

Artifintech is seeking a Node.js Developer to join our API Core Engineering team in Charlotte, NC for a 12-month+ extension engagement. The role focuses on ownership of API platform design, coding, testing, and deployment, with emphasis on CI/CD, cloud services, and robust tooling.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in Node.js/JavaScript/TypeScript, Python scripting, and experience building RESTful APIs and microservices. AWS experience and strong DevOps capabilities are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of software development using Node.js, JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience with Python scripting and programming.
• Experience building APIs or microservices (REST) including auth, versioning and docs.
• Proven DevOps exposure with GitLab CI/CD, Terraform IaC, and Git workflows.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, reliability, performance and observability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical authority on all phases of software development for the API platform.
• Support API platform upgrades and operations.
• Develop applications, frameworks, and tools to improve developer productivity and SDLC.
• Develop CI/CD pipeline tools and frameworks using GitLab, Python, and Shell scripts.
• Collaborate with other teams to drive API gateway adoption and resolve issues for consumer teams.

Job Description:

• Serve as a technical authority on all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of the API platform and tooling
• Support the API platform support and upgrades
• Develop applications, frameworks, and tools for API Core Engineering division to improve developer productivity and SDLC process
• Develop CI/CD pipeline tools and frameworks using GitLab, Python, and Shell Scripts

Interact with other development teams within Enterprise to support the adoption of the API gateway and frameworks we build, help resolve issues surrounding adoption and usage, and support questions or clarifications or issues from the consumer teams

Mandatory Skills:

• 3-5+ years of software development experience using Node.js, JavaScript or TypeScript as programming language
• Experience of Python programming language and scripting languages
• Experience developing comprehensive unit tests using Jest or Mocha or Chai or an equivalent testing framework
• Hands-on experience building and operating services on public cloud (AWS strongly preferred).
• Experience designing and developing APIs or microservices (REST), including versioning, authentication/authorization, and documentation.
• Proven experience with DevOps toolchains: GitLab (CI/CD), Terraform (IaC), and Git-based workflows.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, reliability, performance, and observability (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Strategic thinker with hands-on problem-solving skills.
• Experience using source version control (SVC) such as Git

Desired Skills:

• Experience developing API with API Gateway support experience
• Experience in working with Platform teams.
• Experience in cloud is highly valued; AWS certifications are a big plus
