Qualifications

• At least 7+ years of software development experience.

• Experience with REST, SOAP and JSON web services.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (Oracle/DB2/Sybase).
• Knowledge of J2EE/Servlets and Java server technologies.
• Familiarity with SOA and API design.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced software developer to design, develop, and support scalable web-based and middle-layer services. The role requires strong Java and Node.js/TypeScript development skills, solid API and service-oriented architecture experience, and the ability to collaborate across technology and business teams.

What You'll Do in the Role

• Effectively work with PMO, Development, Product Management, Business and Technical Operations, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, Networks, and Architecture teams.
• Draft and review architectural diagrams, specifications, business requirements, and other design documents.
• Work with the existing technology stack, including Java, C++, Linux, Unix, open-source platforms, and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), as well as new technologies for next-generation solutions.
• Develop a robust understanding of financial products, services, processes, and organizational structure to identify optimal solutions.
• Mentor other software developers and contribute to engineering best practices.

What You'll Bring to the Role

• At least 7+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in software development principles, including design patterns, code structure, programming languages, continuous integration, and deployments.
• Hands-on experience with Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Integration, TypeScript, Node.js, Kafka, and ActiveMQ.
• Experience with Java server technologies such as J2EE and Servlets.
• Experience with Tomcat, Maven, and other tools used for Java development.
• Hands-on API/Web Services development experience using REST, SOAP, and JSON.
• Proficiency with at least one relational database such as Oracle, DB2, or Sybase.
• Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software development methodologies.
• Good understanding of Web Services protocols, API design, extensibility, and portability.
