Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced software professional in Alpharetta, GA to lead API and web service development across web, mobile, and backend platforms. You will work with Java, Spring, TypeScript, Node.js, Kafka, and messaging systems, ensuring scalable, robust solutions within financial services contexts.

The role emphasizes strong design, mentoring, and collaboration with cross-functional teams, leveraging experience in J2EE, Tomcat, and Maven.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software development experience with strong OOP, design patterns, code architecture, CI/CD, and SOA expertise.
  • Hands-on with Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Integration, TypeScript, Node.js, Kafka, and ActiveMQ.
  • Experienced in J2EE, Servlets, Tomcat, and Maven-based development.
  • Skilled in API/Web Services development using REST, SOAP, and JSON.
  • Proficient with Oracle, DB2, or Sybase, and API design focused on extensibility, portability, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Build and support APIs and web services that enable integration across web, mobile, and backend platforms.
  • Collaborate effectively with PMO, Development, Product Management, Business, Technical Operations, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, Network, and Architecture teams.
  • Draft and review architectural diagrams, technical specifications, business requirements, and design documents.
  • Work within existing technology environments including Java, C++, Linux, Unix, Open-Source Platforms, and SOA.
  • Contribute to next-generation solution development by adopting and implementing new technologies.
  • Develop robust, scalable, and high-performing solutions that support business needs.
  • Gain a strong understanding of financial products, services, workflows, and organizational structures to recommend effective solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to team technical growth and best practices.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Alpharetta, GA is $100k - $105k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Requirements:
