Job description

Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, a member of Trinity Health Of New England, the region's largest nonprofit health system, seeks a Physician Assistant to join our Physician Assistant Surgical Services Team.

This exciting full-time, inpatient position is ideal for a self-motivated Physician Assistant knowledgeable in General Surgery and interested in working across all surgical subspecialties. The duties include night coverage at our modern and conveniently located Medical Center. The ideal candidate will possess skills to evaluate surgical patients, interact with the multidisciplinary hospital staff, and assist in all aspects of patient care, including ER evaluation, admission, peri-operative management of inpatients for General Surgical Service, and first assisting in the operating room.

REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program eligible for licensure as a Certified Physician Assistant in Massachusetts
• Current federal DEA registration and eligibility for Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration
• Certification by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
• Experience in an acute care/surgical setting or completion of a Postgraduate Surgical Residency program; highly motivated new graduates are also considered
