Job summary

Sound Physicians is seeking a PRN Advanced Practice Provider to work nocturnist hours at Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch, CA. The role requires ICU-level assessment, rapid procedures, and collaboration with tele-ICU staff and an on-call Intensivist.

Candidates must hold an Active PA certification and a California license (preferred). This night-shift position supports a 12-hour schedule with a focus on high-quality critical care delivery.

Qualifications

• Active Physician Assistant certification.
• Active California license preferred.
• Ability to manage a high volume of complex cases, including procedures such as intubations, central lines, arterial lines, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, temporary hemodialysis catheter placement, mechanical ventilation management, and lumbar puncture.
• Prior ICU experience as an acute care trained nurse practitioner — no new graduates.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients in the ICU during nocturnal hours.
• Independently assess and treat critically ill patients with procedures as needed.
• Engage in daily ICU rounds and collaborate with tele-ICU staff and on-call Intensivist.
