Job summary

MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in Olney, Maryland, seeks a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Nocturnist) to join the ICU team in a 12-bed Medical/Surgical ICU caring for critically ill patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) or Physician Assistant program.
• Current AGACNP or NCCPA certification.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• At least 1 year of acute care APP experience.

Responsibilities

• Care for critically ill medical and surgical patients in a 12-bed Medical/Surgical ICU.
• Lead Code Blue responses and participate in Rapid Response Team activations.
• Evaluate and manage unstable patients throughout the hospital who may require ICU-level care.
• Perform procedures and practice with a high degree of clinical autonomy within a collaborative team environment.
