Ascension Milwaukee Hospitals is seeking an experienced nocturnist to join our overnight team at Columbia St. Mary’s Milwaukee, a 300-bed facility in Milwaukee, WI.

The role involves managing hospital admissions, providing critical care during night shifts, and collaborating with a daytime team to ensure smooth patient flow. You will lead bedside assessments, mentor residents, and contribute to high-quality medical management within a closed ICU.

Qualifications

• Wisconsin MD/DO licensure required before hire.
• Advanced Life Support preferred (AHA/ARC accepted).
• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy required.

Responsabilités

• Join a dedicated overnight Night Team and collaborate with daytime staff.
• Lead clinical assessments for hospital admissions and stabilize patients overnight.
• Mentor residents and support academic development on every shift.

• Collaborative Night Team: Join a dedicated overnight duo of two Nocturnists, supported by a daytime team of seven rounders, ensuring a manageable pace and a strong peer-to-peer partnership.
• Lead Clinical Assessments: Evaluate and treat hospital admissions with precision, serving as the primary attending or consulting physician to stabilize and care for patients during the critical overnight hours.
• Mentor the Next Generation: Drive academic excellence by teaching and mentoring residents during every shift, fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional development.
• Focus on Specialized Care: Benefit from a closed ICU model where dedicated Intensivists lead all codes and procedures, allowing you to focus your expertise on high-quality medical management and diagnostic accuracy.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
