Job summary

MUSC Health Florence Pulmonary Critical Care seeks a Nocturnal Advanced Practice Provider to join the inpatient ICU team. You will assess, diagnose, and manage complex patients overnight, collaborate with physicians, and lead care plans with education for patients and families.

The role emphasizes comprehensive exams, documentation, and safe transitions of care, with opportunities to precept students and support research and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with current licensure or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina.
• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner candidates must be licensed or eligible, with prior hospital medicine and/or ICU experience preferred.
• Must have a least 6 months of Hospitalist Medicine Experience.
• Requires certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). If ACLS is not current, provider must enroll and have received certificate by start date.
• APRN must maintain licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs, etc. as required by applicable policies and state law.
• DHEC and DEA license.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage complex patients overnight in the inpatient critical care setting.
• Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop patient care plans.
• Participate in rounds, provide education to patients and families, and manage clinical documentation.
• Initiate referrals and consult with attending or collaborating physicians.
• Document and bill for direct care; support transitions of care.
• Potential to precept students and assist in the operating room as allowed.
• Utilize evidence-based decision-making and participate in quality improvement activities.
