Gallaher Signature Living – Laurel Heights in Moorpark, CA is hiring a full-time Caregiver in Assisted Living to support residents with daily living, mobility, dining, and companionship, delivering person-centered care in a warm, elegant setting.

This role requires a high school diploma, prior caregiving experience preferred, and a willingness to obtain Title 22 compliant training. NOC shift available; compensation is $19.00–$22.75 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior caregiving experience in assisted living, memory care, or related setting preferred; training provided.
• Ability to safely use mobility aids and basic household appliances.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire, as required by Title 22).
• Basic computer skills, including email and electronic documentation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service-oriented, compassionate and team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting and continence care while honoring resident preferences.
• Support residents with mobility, ambulation, positioning, and transfers including walkers, wheelchairs, gait belts, and lifting techniques.
• Assist with mealtime service, including meal setup, cueing, and feeding as permitted.
• Respond to call systems and resident requests to ensure safety and comfort.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to licensed or supervisory staff per Title 22 requirements.
• Provide light housekeeping related to resident care (laundry, bed making, tidying) to maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Encourage residents to participate in maintaining their living spaces to support independence and safety.
• Offer warm companionship and engage residents in conversation and activities.
• Promote participation in community life and maintain a respectful atmosphere.
• Adhere to community policies, infection control, resident rights, and confidentiality standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and continence care, while honoring resident preferences, privacy, and dignity.
• Support residents with mobility, ambulation, positioning, and transfers, including the safe use of walkers, wheelchairs, gait belts, and approved lifting techniques.
• Assist with mealtime service, including meal delivery, set-up, cueing, and feeding as permitted, ensuring a gracious and enjoyable dining experience.
• Respond promptly and professionally to call systems, alerts, and resident requests to ensure safety, comfort, and peace of mind.
• Observe, document, and immediately report any changes in residents’ physical condition, cognitive status, or emotional wellbeing to appropriate licensed or supervisory staff, in compliance with Title 22 reporting requirements.
• Provide light housekeeping services related to resident care, such as laundry, bed making, and tidying living spaces, to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Encourage residents, as appropriate, to participate in maintaining their personal living spaces to support independence and safety.
• Offer warm companionship, engaging residents in conversation, recreational programming, and social activities that enrich daily life.
• Promote participation in community life and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive, and respectful atmosphere.
• Adhere to all community policies, infection control practices, resident rights, and confidentiality standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
