Gallaher Signature Living is seeking a full‑time Caregiver in Assisted Living in Covina, California. You will provide compassionate daily care, support with ADLs and mobility, and help create a comfortable, dignified living environment for residents.

Responsibilities include meals, documentation, safety monitoring, light housekeeping, and social engagement. Prior caregiving experience is preferred; First Aid/CPR is advantageous.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior caregiving experience in assisted living or memory care preferred.
• Ability to safely use mobility aids, adaptive equipment, and basic household appliances.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Basic computer skills including email and electronic documentation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service‑oriented, compassionate approach.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and comply with regulatory requirements.

• Support residents with mobility, ambulation, positioning, and transfers using walkers, wheelchairs, gait belts, and safe lifting techniques.

• Respond promptly to call systems, alerts, and resident requests to ensure safety and comfort.
• Observe, document, and report changes in residents' physical or cognitive condition to licensed staff per regulations.
• Provide light housekeeping related to resident care, including laundry, bed making, and tidying living spaces.
• Encourage residents to participate in maintaining personal living spaces to support independence.
• Offer warm companionship, conversation, and engagement in recreational activities.
• Promote participation in community life and foster a respectful atmosphere.
• Adhere to policies, infection control practices, resident rights, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and continence care, while honoring resident preferences, privacy, and dignity.
• Support residents with mobility, ambulation, positioning, and transfers, including the safe use of walkers, wheelchairs, gait belts, and approved lifting techniques.
• Assist with mealtime service, including meal delivery, set‑up, cueing, and feeding as permitted, ensuring a gracious and enjoyable dining experience.
• Respond promptly and professionally to call systems, alerts, and resident requests to ensure safety, comfort, and peace of mind.
• Observe, document, and immediately report any changes in residents’ physical condition, cognitive status, or emotional wellbeing to appropriate licensed or supervisory staff, in compliance with Title 22 reporting requirements.
• Provide light housekeeping services related to resident care, such as laundry, bed making, and tidying living spaces, to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Encourage residents, as appropriate, to participate in maintaining their personal living spaces to support independence and safety.
• Offer warm companionship, engaging residents in conversation, recreational programming, and social activities that enrich daily life.
• Promote participation in community life and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive, and respectful atmosphere.
• Adhere to all community policies, infection control practices, resident rights, and confidentiality standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior caregiving experience in assisted living, memory care, or a related setting preferred; training provided for qualified candidates.
• Ability to safely use mobility aids, adaptive equipment, and basic household appliances.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire, as required by Title 22).
• Basic computer skills, including email and electronic documentation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service‑oriented, compassionate, and team‑focused approach.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and comply with all regulatory requirements.
