Job summary

Mammoth Hospital in Mammoth Lakes, CA is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts. You will initiate care plans based on nursing diagnoses and coordinate with other departments to maintain a safe, high-quality environment.

You will provide direct nursing care using the nursing process, document assessments every 2 hours, admit, transfer and discharge patients, and ensure safety and infection control.

Qualifications

  • State of California Registered Nurse license required.
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC certifications required.
  • NRP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of one year acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor physical status of the patient.
  • Correlate physicians orders to diagnosis and treatment.
  • Manage laboratory work-up and values related to diagnosis.
  • Admit, transfer and discharge patients as needed.
  • Document patient care every 2 hours with clear, accurate records.
  • Ensure safety and infection control procedures are followed.

Job DetailsJob Location: Mammoth Lakes - Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $58.46 - $83.27 HourlyJob Shift: NightThe Emergency Department Registered Nurse initiates a plan of care based on identified medical and nursing diagnosis which is consistent with knowledge of illnesses, injuries, diseases, human behavior, and outlined standards of care. He/ she directs and coordinates with other departments and ancillary personnel to provide a safe environment and a high standard of quality care.

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process of planning, directing, and evaluating the nursing care. The Emergency Department Registered Nurse relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care, and monitors satisfactory relations with other departments and nursing areas to promote a safe environment and a high standard of quality care.

What You'll Do:
  • Assess and monitor physical status of the patient.
  • Aware of patient treatment needs in order to correlate physicians orders to diagnosis.
  • Knowledgeable of Laboratory work-up and values related to diagnosis.
  • Effectively admits, transfers and discharges patients.
  • Documents patient care on clinical records and on initial assessment, as pertinent changes occur, and at least every 2 hours in a clear, accurate and concise manner.
  • Anticipates potential problems and adapts to unit changes.
  • Consistently and interdependently follow established safety and infection control procedures. Intervene in unsafe situations.

Job Information:
  • Starting wage $58.47 to $70.87 based on qualifications.
  • Full-time, varied night shifts.
  • Weekend and/or holiday rotation may be required.
  • $11/hour night shift differential.
