Job summary

Unisys in Pennsylvania is seeking a skilled Linux/Unix Systems Administrator to provide advanced support in a 24/7 NOC environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for server administration, advanced troubleshooting, and ensuring the reliability of the Linux/Unix infrastructure.

Candidates should possess a BA/BS degree along with 2-4 years of relevant experience and have strong skills in Linux/Unix troubleshooting and server administration. This role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to support rotating shifts.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in systems administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for Linux/Unix environments.
  • U.S. Citizenship and U.S. residency required.

Responsibilities

  • Administers Linux/Unix servers including maintenance and configuration.
  • Diagnoses and resolves complex OS and connectivity issues.
  • Performs daily monitoring and initiates proactive remediation.
  • Installs, removes, and upgrades Linux/Unix packages.
  • Handles Level 2 Linux/Unix-related tickets through resolution.
  • Provides system evaluation reports and contributes to operational recommendations.
  • Updates system records and ensures licensing compliance.
  • Creates runbooks and trains Level 1 analysts on procedures.
