Job summary

Unisys is seeking a Linux/Unix Systems Administrator to manage and maintain enterprise servers across development, test, and production environments. The role emphasizes on-call support, incident remediation, and proactive monitoring to ensure uptime.

The successful candidate will have a BA/BS and 2-4 years of relevant experience, be able to support 24x7 operations, and meet U.S. citizenship/residency requirements; Windows credentials may also be relevant.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Strong experience with Linux/Unix troubleshooting and server administration.
• Ability to support 24x7 operations and rotating shifts.
• U.S. Citizenship and residency required.
• May also hold Windows credentials if permitted.

Responsibilities

• Administers Linux/Unix development, test, and production servers with maintenance tasks.
• Diagnoses and resolves complex Linux/Unix OS, service, and connectivity issues.
• Monitors systems daily and initiates proactive remediation.
• Installs, removes, and upgrades Linux/Unix packages using native package managers.
• Owns Level 2 Linux/Unix tickets to resolution including root cause analysis.
• Produces system evaluation reports and contributes to operational recommendations.
• Updates system records, ensures licensing compliance, and maintains configuration data.
• Creates runbooks and how-to guides; trains Level 1 analysts.
