Job Description

Clemson University’s CCIT Customer Support Services Team is looking for a NOC IT Technician II to fulfill the following duties:

  • Monitors, tests, maintains, and repairs network and infrastructure elements for Clemson CCIT.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Monitors Clemson network, server, and application elements, resolve incidents and service requests and/or consult with the subject matter expert team for incident resolution.
  • Applies simple state-of-the-art technology to meet and improve network control center.
  • Configure network and system resources, and maintain corresponding system records and documentation.
  • Provides Tier II support as per SME agreements. Performs periodic maintenance and monitoring of computer systems.
  • Performs pre-configured port activations on network switches.
  • Monitors mainframe, applications, and batch processing. Responds to issues, alerts, incidents, tickets and resolves incidents and service requests and/or consults with the subject matter expert team for incident resolution.
  • Meets agreed SLA time requirements.
  • Prepares and reviews documentation for use in operations for training and knowledge base.
  • Participates in training and cross training for the Tier II.
  • Provides customer service for all information and/or telecommunication network systems support areas.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent and experience in information technology, electronics technology systems, or other related areas.
  • Work Experience - 5 Years; An associate's degree or bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • DNS configuration.
  • Understanding of monitoring tools (Splunk, SolarWinds).
