Job summary

Dr. Tavel Optical Group is seeking an Optometric Technician in Training in Indiana. You’ll act as the doctor’s right hand, conducting pre-tests, gathering health information, and ensuring patients are prepped for an exceptional experience.

We will teach you the necessary skills, with a focus on patient care, attention to detail, and growth. Office hours include some Saturdays, with opportunities to advance through certifications.

Qualifications

• We don’t require eye care experience; you’ll learn on the job with focus, discipline, and a genuine desire to help others.
• We will teach you the skills to be successful in this position. You’ll need a willingness to learn, a heart for patient care, and attention to detail.
• Availability to work during office hours (including some Saturdays).

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-tests and diagnostic procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
• Collect and document patient medical histories and current health information.
• Communicate effectively with doctors and help manage clinic flow.
• Maintain clean, functional equipment for a seamless patient experience.
• Assist with insurance verification, eligibility checks, and benefit authorizations.
• Stay current with training and actively work to grow your skills.
• Ability to travel to support other locations only if needed.
