Job summary

Dr. Tavel Optical Group in Indianapolis is seeking an Optometric Technician in Training who will support doctors with pre-tests, gather health information, and prepare patients for exams.

No eye care experience required; strong attention to detail and empathy are valued. You will learn diagnostic procedures, stay organized in a fast-paced clinic, assist with insurance verification, and travel to other locations if needed.

Qualifications

• Prior medical, clinical, or pharmacy experience is helpful, but not required—we hire for attitude, teach for skill.
• Attend mandatory two-week paid training (no absences)—we invest in your success.
• You?ll work some Saturdays— because our patients need us then too

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-tests and diagnostic procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
• Collect and document patient medical histories and current health information.
• Communicate effectively with doctors and help manage clinic flow.
• Maintain clean, functional equipment for a seamless patient experience.
• Assist with insurance verification, eligibility checks, and benefit authorizations.
• Stay current with training and actively grow your skills.
• Ability to travel to support other locations only if needed.
