Centra Health in Lynchburg, VA is expanding its CMG Brain and Spine program to recruit an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) for neuroendovascular care. This inpatient role supports stroke care, ICU care, and collaboration with neurology, neurosurgery, and critical care teams.

The position offers a high-acuity, procedure-driven setting with mentorship and structured onboarding. In-office and hospital-based responsibilities emphasize patient education and coordinated care across the continuum.

Qualifications

• Masters degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current Virginia PA licensure.
• ACLS certification (required for LFM)

Responsabilités

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with cerebrovascular and neurovascular conditions.
• Provide inpatient care including pre- and post-procedural assessments, ICU rounds, and care coordination.
• Assist with neurointerventional procedures as appropriate.
• Participate in stroke alerts and order/interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Document care in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner.

This APP will play a key role in the care of patients with complex cerebrovascular and neurovascular conditions across the continuum of care.

Job Description

CMG Brain and Spine are expanding! As we begin to rebuild our Neuroendovascular program (previously Neurointerventional) we are seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant). This APP will play a key role in the care of patients with complex cerebrovascular and neurovascular conditions across the continuum of care.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-acuity, procedure-driven specialty alongside fellowship-trained Neuroendovascular surgeons in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with cerebrovascular and neurovascular conditions (e.g., ischemic stroke, intracranial aneurysms, AVMs, carotid disease)
• Provide inpatient care including:
  • Pre- and post-procedural assessments
  • Daily rounding in ICU and step-down units
  • Coordination of care with neurology, neurosurgery, critical care, and nursing teams
• Assist with neurointerventional procedures as appropriate such as lumbar puncture, blood patch, myelogram (non-invasive procedures)
• Participate in stroke alerts
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care
• Document care in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner

About the Role

• Opportunity to assist in cases once clinical orientation is complete

About The Unit

• Primary Stroke – Thrombectomy capable
• Level II Trauma Center
• 18 bed neuro-ICU
• Neuro step down unit
• 2 full-time Neuroendovascular Physicians

Qualifications

Required Education: Masters Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant School

Required Certifications and Licensures: Current licensure by the State of Virginia as a Physician Assistant ACLS (required only for LFM)
