Job summary

Intel Corporation in Albuquerque, NM is seeking experienced technicians for wafer manufacturing equipment support. You will operate, troubleshoot, and maintain lithography, metrology, thin films, or CMS tools on a compressed 7pm–7am schedule, driving reliability and process improvements across the line.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree and 2+ years in equipment maintenance or related discipline.
  • Bachelor’s in STEM with 1+ year of relevant experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years hands‑on manufacturing or military tech experience.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with precision measurement tools and high‑volume manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to resolve complex equipment and process issues.
  • Analyze tool warnings, alarms, and interrupts to diagnose and correct events.
  • Support operations to meet safety, quality, output, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Dismantle, adjust, repair, install, and assemble manufacturing equipment per specs and manuals.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recover production through troubleshooting and alarm response.
  • Collaborate with Module Engineering to run experiments and support data collection.
  • Drive reliability and performance improvements via data analysis and root‑cause investigation.
  • Mentor team members and champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

We are hiring for positions within one of three manufacturing departments: Lithography/Metrology (Litho/Metro), Thin Films, or CMS.

This position operates on a compressed workweek schedule with either:

  • Shift 4 (Front End of Week): 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Shift 6 (Back End of Week): 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

In this role, you will perform functions associated with all aspects of wafer manufacturing, including equipment operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and process improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to resolve complex equipment and process issues.
  • Analyze and respond to tool warnings, alarms, and interrupts to diagnose and correct both chronic and one-time events.
  • Support manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, output, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Dismantle, adjust, repair, install, and assemble manufacturing equipment in accordance with specifications, procedures, and repair manuals.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recover production through effective troubleshooting and alarm response.
  • Partner with Module Engineering teams to execute experiments, implement equipment configuration changes, and support data collection activities.
  • Complete all work in accordance with documented procedures, specifications, and work orders.
  • Drive equipment reliability and performance improvements through data analysis, root cause investigation, and controlled experimentation.
  • Serve as a technical leader across the 168-hour team and actively contribute to HPM teams, ATACs, and Task Force meetings.
  • Mentor and develop team members by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Champion a culture of inclusion, diversity, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a role model within the department and across factory teams by demonstrating behaviors that positively impact performance and operational excellence.
  • Drive improvements to training systems, documentation, procedures, specifications, and OCAPs to enhance operational effectiveness.
Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a technical field and 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or a related technical discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and 1+ year of relevant experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of hands‑on manufacturing experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of military technical experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED and 2.5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or a closely related technical field.

Qualifications may be obtained through a combination of industry experience, military experience, technical training, internships, or related education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and operating electromechanical equipment in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with lithography, dry high‑vacuum systems, or other semiconductor manufacturing or research equipment.
  • Proficiency in the use of electrical and mechanical measurement tools, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience using torque wrenches, precision hand tools, and other equipment maintenance tools.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $82,620.00-116,640.00 USD (Hourly Role)
