Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Weights & Research Inspector in Columbus, OH. You will review inspection reports, conduct dock inspections with handheld devices, and verify billing descriptions for accuracy.

The role requires 4 years of experience, plus strong documentation and communication skills. NMFC knowledge is preferred, with a shift pattern that includes days, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• 4 years of work or military experience.
• Ability to explain and document classification corrections.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to navigate the internet effectively for research.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Review inspection reports to identify potential issues.
• Conduct inspections of shipments on the dock using handheld devices.
• Review BOL and billing descriptions to verify accuracy.
• Gather information related to the shipment, including dimensions, pictures, and commodity characteristics.
• Research commodity information using the NMFC for applicable description and class.
• Issue document corrections based on NMFC provisions.
• Upload documents/pictures into the image system for review.
• Maintain the reports necessary to measure corrections activity and revenue recovery.
