Placements24 is seeking an accomplished NLP Scientist to join our client's AI research team in Paarl. You will advance state-of-the-art language understanding, generation, and interaction through rigorous research and development on impactful projects.

Responsibilities include designing novel NLP algorithms, building and fine-tuning transformer-based models, analyzing large text corpora, deploying models with engineers, and publishing findings to stay ahead in the field.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in CS, Computational Linguistics, or related field with an NLP focus.
• Publications in conferences or journals demonstrate research impact.
• Strong Python and NLP library experience (NLTK, spaCy, Hugging Face).
• Expertise in PyTorch or TensorFlow for model development.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop novel NLP algorithms for tasks such as text classification and summarization.
• Build and fine-tune deep learning models for language understanding and generation (Transformers).
• Process and analyze large text corpora for data quality and relevance.
• Collaborate with engineers to deploy NLP models into production systems.
• Publish research findings and stay current with latest NLP advancements.
