Point72 Asset Management is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer - Applied Scientist to develop production-ready NLP solutions and models for front office investment professionals. You will handle end-to-end research, data collection and evaluation, and collaborate with data engineers, software developers, and product teams to deploy models into production systems.

Qualifications

• PhD, master's degree, or 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience.
• 6+ years of experience building ML models and developing algorithms.
• Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with NumPy, Hugging Face, PyTorch, and spaCy for NLP applications.
• Experience with LLMs, foundation models, or large-scale deep learning systems; knowledge of training, fine-tuning, quantization and evaluation.
• Expertise with sparse data and techniques like data augmentation, weak supervision, semi-supervised learning.
• Solid NLP fundamentals: tokenization, embeddings, attention, transformers.
• Experience in Linux environments and commitment to high ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to ML and NLP projects across disciplines.
• Implement GenAI solutions and optimize ML infrastructure.
